6:34 am [falnedn]	Ah, yes... This will be merely my second year at CONvergence this year, though hardly my last, I'm sure! At least this year I got smart and have a room... by Sunday I swear I was hallucinating (though maybe not, this is CONvergence after all)! Last year was a b'day gift from someone else, this year it's a b'day gift to myself (though my b'day this year isn't until the day after). Lookin' forward to seeing Wally Wingert, amongst others. 12:56 pm [getyourgeekon]	Sorry, No Party Room this year I thought I had placed a entry here, maybe it just ended up on my personal lj. whoops. Sorry y'all, we decided several months ago that the VS party room will not be happening this year. Due to lots of reasons r0ckc4ndy and I just do not have the time or resources we had in the last two years to run this party. Don't worry, we will still be at CON and you will still see some of creativity put to work in other aspects. Thanks everyone for participating and making our party such a success! 6:58 pm [r0ckc4ndy]	GETTING READY, YO Hey ya'll: This saturday, my place, noon, DOING THINGS FOR VS. PARTY. Please all and sundry come over and help. There will be folding, cutting, coalating, button making, and more that needs to be done. We are always looking for people to help with the party but even if you can't or aren't even going to Con your help on Sat. I know many of you will be hungover from NYE but that's ok! Now fine motor skill required. Also: If you are interested in helping with the party (and are in town) I would really really like you to be there. I would like to go over the way we want to run the party, what exactly is going happen, and maybe get some shiftes figured out so no-one is over worked. Sorry I am a bit of a control freak!! 7:54 pm [r0ckc4ndy]	Alright everyone, Con is fast approaching, and work is being done. So I have scheduled a finshing things up meeting for everyon involved. If you are helping, want to help, or just like stapling things please come to my house on Saturday June 1. The gathering will start around noon. This will give you a chance to be sure what is happening in the party, to know what you'll be doing, to finish up any stuff we need done, and if you need last minute costume motivation as well. If I can borrow the button maker that will be happening then as well, but I think I need to that by myself at a friends house. SO: Get together, my house, Saturday June 1st. All party helpers who will be in this city at that point in time please come on over! If you don't know my address comment and I'll let you in on the secret! OK EDIT: Thanks Yaaren. This years theme is ROBOTS vs ALIENS We have some cool ideas, some cool things, and of course...we are cool. Anyone has any ideas or thoughts about what we should do or have done let us know. I think it would be good if all us folks working on this can get a time, and let each other know if we need help with transport. I may need help, 'cause I;m bringing some really big stuff. Also I am bringing Door Stop Plastic for floor 8 large garbage bags Laura is bringing Big Garbage Can Are there any other essentials other than decorating, and is anyone bringing them? 6:20 pm [getyourgeekon]	Ye-Ha! I'm staying at work late tonight to take advantage of the cool air and the much faster/better computer to finish the design for the surprize prize! Hehe. Got a burrito and a brownie to get me through. Tomorrow night's goal is poster designs. I am proud to say that all the concepting is finished. A special thanks to r0ckc4ndy for hosting a get things done party last night! Sorry if I totally pooped out at the end, but we got so much done and ready for y'all coming to our party. Eye-patches, sheriff badges, and scrolls with clues are just the beginning. Only a week and a day until CONvergence starts, and lots of work left to do. Anyone got a cool costume planned? And in the spirit of whistling while we work we are having a get together at r0ckc4ndys house to do some mindless tasks ie glue gunning, stapling, etc. If you are free wednesday June 22 after 7 pm we wil be drinking wine and doing stuff. Bring any costumes you haven't finished, some boooze, and your own glue gun. fun is gauranteed. Note: If you attend this you will not be able to play in the scavenge, you will be considered staff! 12:55 pm [r0ckc4ndy]	So I am ordering things for our party and numbers are proving a problem. I made all sorts of stuff up in my head like... about 3000 people, so maybe plan for 10% to stop by. Who thinks that is a reasonable number? and then 1/2 space pirate 1/2 space cowboy? Or 20% total and therefore 10% each space cowboy/pirate? I don't want to have a shitpile of stuff left over, but I also don't want to be that party that doesn't have stuff for people who want to play. Any ideas anyone? (6 Comments |Comment on this)
